One Programme, Five Exit Points

Pick how far you want to go, not just what you want to study

The BCA is built as a multi-exit structure. Stop after a year with a certificate, or stay the full course for an honours or research degree. Your choice, and it doesn't have to be final on day one.

Certificate
1 Year · 2 Semesters

BCA Certificate

Finish your first year and walk away with a certificate in Computer Applications, a quick, verifiable qualification if your plans shift.

Diploma
2 Years · 4 Semesters

BCA Diploma

Two years in, exit with a diploma in Computer Applications, a recognised stopping point while you weigh your next move.

Degree
3 Years · 6 Semesters

BCA Degree

The standard route. Three years across programming, databases, networking and information security, ending in a full Bachelor's degree.

Honours
4 Years · 8 Semesters

BCA Honours

Stay on for a fourth year and graduate with a BCA Honours degree, built for students who want more depth before job-hunting.

With Research
4 Years · Research Project

BCA with Research

Complete a research project in year four and graduate with a "BCA Degree with Research", useful if an MCA or research career is next.

If you withdraw before completing three years, you can reapply within three years of leaving and still finish your degree, as long as it's within seven years of your original admission.

About the University

Built on a medical college. Grown into 13 schools.

Dr. D. Y. Patil Vidyapeeth began with the Dr. D. Y. Patil Medical College, Hospital & Research Centre, under the leadership of Dr. D. Y. Patil. What started as a medical institution is now a private, non-profit university with 13 schools covering biotechnology, healthcare, management, design, law, and computer applications.

In 2003, the University Grants Commission granted it university status under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956. That same academic backbone now runs the Institute of Distance Learning at Pimpri, Pune, so your online BCA carries the same university name as a degree earned on campus.
