Dr. D. Y. Patil Vidyapeeth began with the Dr. D. Y. Patil Medical College, Hospital & Research Centre, under the leadership of Dr. D. Y. Patil. What started as a medical institution is now a private, non-profit university with 13 schools covering biotechnology, healthcare, management, commerce, design and law.
